Rating Things

Tonight Cola made her semiannual appearance in The City from her hometown in Den Haag, NL. We celebrated by gathering Chia and heading to Latin American Club for Drinks, Aslam’s Rasoi for Food, then Amnesia for some crazy discount bluegrass. Despite some people’s opinion that the place is haunted, Latin American Club is a great place to stop for a drink– especially a manhattan, which they prepare expertly.
Per tradition, we ate at Aslam’s Rasoi, which was, as always, excellent. However, we sat unattended for a very, very long time. When the waiter finally materialized and realized that we had been forgotten, he apologized profusely and offered to comp about four of our appetizers and sides– a kindly gesture. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best Indian cuisine in The City. They make a mean lamb korma with creamed cashew/almond curry, and they’re not fucking around with the spice. Ask for “very spicy” and be prepared for gastrointestinal havoc. Caveat Emptor.
On a whim we stopped by Amnesia to cap off the night. The bluegrass band The Deciders was playing. The woman at the door announced the cover charge of $5/person. When we looked like we were going to get our nightcap elsewhere, she amended the cover charge to $5/all of us. We agreed and went in to catch the last 2 songs of the band– who were actually pretty talented. Amnesia has a surprising selection of beer (local and Belgian) … it’s like a mini Toronado. Unfortunately they don’t have a hard liquor licence so resort to making mixed drinks with soju. We stuck to beer.
Tonight I discovered channel-ai’s star ratings plugin, and have decided it’s time to start rating everything. Since ratings don’t mean much, all ratings will be out of some arbitrary number based on my whim. So, to sum up the evening:
Latin American Club
Rating:

Nice bartender, excellent manhattan; wobbly table spilled 1/2 my drink.
Aslam’s Rasoi
Rating:

High marks for good food and service; points off for makin’ us wait.
Amnesia
Rating:

Great beer; stoned bartender; soju?
The Deciders
Rating:

Kickin’ bluegrass ensemble; great chops; 1.5 stars off for sloppiness, whatever that means.

I wanna see a rating for Apoplexo, does it do negatives?
Also, you forgot to rate the ratings plugin, and rate the ratings themselves (both in the Platonic Ideal sense of “ratings” and the actual concrete ratings).
The ratings system gets high marks. The ratings themselves get a slightly lower rating. I’m still debating the rating on your comments on ratings. so..
Ratings Plugin
[rating:4/4]
Perfect
Rating of the Ratings Plugin
[rating:3.5/5]
Perhaps more stars would have been better

Platonic Ideal my ass
The Platonic Ideal of your Ass is, even now, polluting the ethereal planes with its Best Of All Possible Farts.
